Show off your curb appeal and help beautify our community! We invite San Luis residents to participate in our Landscape Contest and celebrate creativity, pride, and great design.
Who Can Participate?
- Open to all San Luis residents and homeowners.
- Homes must register between January 20 and February 6, 2026.
- Each property may submit one entry.
- Registration should include the resident’s name, address, and contact information.
- Two recognitions will be awarded:
- One for East San Luis
- One for West San Luis
- Winners will be announced on February 12, 2026.
Landscape Guidelines
- Landscaping must be visible from the street or public right-of-way (front yard only; side or rear yards must be visible from the street to qualify).
- Landscapes may include a mix of native and non-native plants.
- Artificial turf (fake grass) and artificial plants are allowed and encouraged as part of creative designs.
- Displays should be family-friendly, well-maintained, and community appropriate.
- Landscaping must not obstruct sidewalks, driveways, or streets, and must be safe for pedestrians and neighbors.
- Please be mindful of neighbors by avoiding excessive lighting or features that could cause disturbances.
Judging Criteria
- Creativity & Design: Unique ideas, layout, and visual appeal.
- Curb Appeal: How well the landscape enhances the home and neighborhood.
- Plant & Material Use: Thoughtful use of plants, turf, decorative elements, and overall maintenance.
- Public Visibility: Landscaping is clearly visible from the street or public areas.
How to Enter
Entries must be submitted by the registration deadline and include required information and at least one photo of the front yard.
The Parks and Recreation Department will view landscapes from public sidewalks or streets only—no entry onto private property.
Participation is free and voluntary.
By entering, participants agree that their home address and photos may be used publicly (social media, community maps, or promotional materials) to highlight participants and winners.
