Southbound Route Changes – San Luis Port of Entry I

Hensel Phelps, contractor for the GSA San Luis Port of Entry I Project, will begin work on the southbound vehicular and pedestrian lanes along Main Street and Urtuzuastegui Street starting Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Due to construction, the southbound pedestrian route into Mexico will be temporarily changed.
Pedestrian Route Details:
- New Route: The southbound pedestrian route will begin at the intersection of Urtuzuastegui Street and Archibald Street, replacing the current starting point at Urtuzuastegui Street and Main Street. Pedestrians will be safely guided around the construction area within the Port of Entry and will exit at the existing U.S.–Mexico pedestrian crossing.
- Effective Date: Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 8:30 AM
Southbound Vehicle Traffic:
- CBP will begin shifting traffic into the new southbound vehicle lanes at the Port of Entry via Archibald Street.
- Effective Date: On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 9:00 AM
Important Notes:
- Please follow all posted signs for the southbound pedestrian route along Urtuzuastegui Street and within the Port of Entry.
- Dates and times are subject to change without notice.
- Pedestrians should plan ahead and allow extra time to reach the U.S.–Mexico pedestrian crossing.
- Pedestrians should not be taking shopping carts into the port of entry.
